To make Saigon Heat more strong and special this year, coach Kyle just brings an quality import to CIS stadium. He is Davonte Lacy – who has experience of the NBA G-League with Erie BayHawks.
Lacy was a four-year starter at WSU. He averaged 19.4 points as a junior. He contributed 16.9 points as a senior in 2015 and was first-team All-Pac-12. The Tacoma native is the Cougars’ all-time leader with 249 3-pointers.
He put up 18.5 points, 5.2 assists and 2.8 rebounds this season for German pro team Ehingen. He also has pro experience in Austria and Erie BayHawks at NBA G-League in.
“l loved watching Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady, they are one of the reasons I started. Those two I would say had the biggest impact on me.” – Lacy said. And when talks about his new challenge at ABL, he is also excited: “I’m excited to join the Saigon Heat and coach Kyle Julius. Last year they took a major step forward and I’m looking forward to being apart of something special this year in the ABL.”
Coach Kyle Julius’s comment: “Davonte is a strong physical guard that can really shoot the ball and create for others. We will use Davonte in the post and allow him to play with freedom and his instincts in the open court. He has a great attitude and a very good work ethic. By the time the season starts he will be in the best shape of his life, he will have a great season for us this year.”
