Former NBA player Gary Forbes will be joinning as Saigon Heat’s second import following the recruitment of Christien Charles for the upcoming ABL season.
Recently, Saigon Heat officially welcomed two players in their ABL 10 roster - the VBA 2019's MVP Dinh Thanh Tam and ABL legend Christien Charles. In an effort to go further this season, the team has recruited the 6 ft. 7 former NBA star to help the cause. Forbes has played over 100 games in the two years he was with for the Denver Nuggets and Toronto Raptors. The 34-year-old player has also participated in several professional basketball tournaments all across Europe, South America and, Asia.

After his NBA stint, the Panamanian player ventured on to compete in many other countries around the world such as: China, Greece, Israel, Italy, Argentina and Venezuela. Notably, when playing for the Zhejiang Lions in the 2012-2013 season of the China Professional Basketball League (CBA), Gary Forbes rose to the top of the scoring list with an average of 28.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

As a veteran player who’s played at the highest level, Gary’s presence with Saigon Heat sets the bar very high for our entire organization. He’s a versatile player who can help us in many ways.
