SAIGON HEAT WELCOMES 3RD IMPORT SAM THOMPSON FOR UPCOMING ABL SEASON

Saigon Heat continues to bring good news for fans by signing Sam Thompson as their third import for ABL 10.

Following the announcements of Christien Charles and Gary Forbes, Saigon Heat has continued to revamp their roster by adding Sam Thompson to the team. Sam has had over eight years of experience playing in the NCAA, NBA G-League, and NBA.

Sam Thompson has had 8 years of experience playing at the NCAA, NBA G-League, and NBA.

During his NCAA career, Sam scored an average of 10.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals for Ohio State in the 2014-15 season. His impressive performance at the NCAA has lead him to capturing the attention of the Charlotte Hornets. From then on, Sam was invited to the NBA training camp before the 2015-16 season. He was even given the opportunity to play at the NBA pre-season for the team.

Sam played at the NBA pre-season for the Charlotte Hornets.

On top of that, the 26-year-old player was given the chance to play in the NBA G-League for the Delaware 87ers, Grand Rapids Driver, and Greensboro Swarm. Specifically, in the 2017-18 season, Sam Thompson exhibited an admirable performance averaging 9.5 points, 4 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1 steal per game when he played for the Greensboro Swarm.

Sam has also played in the NBA G-league.

With his skillful techniques and great athleticism, the American player promises to be a perfect addition to Saigon Heat for the upcoming ABL season. Commenting on Sam Thompson, coach Kevin Yurkus states: “We’re very excited to have Sam join SGH for ABL10. Sam is an explosive athlete who can play multiple positions at both ends of the floor. His size, quickness, and versatility will be a major factor for SGH. Sam is a hard worker and who’s looking forward to the challenge of playing in the ABL.”
